Methoxy Methyl Triphenyl Phosphonium Chloride is used as a phase transfer catalyst and intermediates of Liquid Crystals. It also finds use in the synthesis of taxol-A fragment and pharmaceutical product cephalotaxine. This wittig reagent reacts with aldehydes and ketones to form substituted alkenes. This Wittig reaction is used in the synthesis of substituted quinolines, akuammiline alkaloid picrinine, etc.
